IU completes her first successful showcase in Japan

Singer IU recently held a showcase in Japan to announce her official Japanese debut.
On January 24th, IU was at the Bunkamura Orchard Hall to hold two sessions of her ‘Japan Premium Live‘ Showcase. The showcase from beginning to end was dedicated to creating the optimal stage for IU to sing her music.

Bunkamura Orchard Hall, the venue at which the event was held is a more elegant and professional ‘arts’ venue that’s different from other stadiums and event halls. This venue was selected so that IU could most effectively deliver the best quality of music for her fans.
With the help of Tokyo’s New City Orchestra, IU performed her hit songs “Rain Drop“, “Good Day“, “Last Fantasy“, and more. This live performance put on in conjunction with New City Orchestra had a much richer sound that delivered a much more deep emotion to the audience members.
Ahead of her full-length album release on March 21st, IU performed her Japanese version of “Good Day” and showcased her explosive vocal talent to captivate her fans’ hearts.

Leading Japanese newspaper NikkanSports who was also at the event remarked, “IU’s vocal talent is her greatest secret weapon. Her vocals are much more amazingly powerful now that we have seen her perform live and we are looking forward to IU’s future in Japan.”
There were a diverse group of fans at the showcase, including not only male fans in their teens and 20′s, but also those in their 30′s and 40′s along with a large number of high school fan girls who were cheering on their favorite Korean star.
A fan in her twenties remarked, “I think IU has the best vocals of all the K-pop artists. She can pull off a wide variety of music, including dance and ballad and her music is truly beautiful.”
Another fan remarked, “Not only is she talented, but she is adorable. I hope she continues to sing songs that appeal to a lot of people.”

IU who completed her showcase to officially kick off her Japanese promotions remarked, “I have only promoted in Korea until now, and I am so grateful and pleasantly surprised that there are so many Japanese fans who love my music. I will work to present my fans with good music and good performances on stage so please continue to show me love and support.”
In related news, the singer will be releasing her first official Japanese single “Good Day” on March 21st.
