Along with the fact that they were both born in 1993 and both got into the entertainment buisness at a young age, the two have a lot in common. Although they had previously seen each other through music programs, they finally became close through the 2010 SBS variety show "Heroes".

IU attended the fansign meeting for the publication of the book about school violence, 'I'm Sorry', on July 3rd, at the Seoul Gwanghwamun Kyobo Bookstore. She stated "I read the articles about school violence. I hope you will actively use me, the ambassador, to stop this issue."

On this day, the rice wreaths which were delivered to LOEN's office lobby in the morning consisted of a 516kg rice wreath with the message "Happy 20th birthday, IU, WeHeartIU International Forum" as well as a 200kg rice wreath with the message "Happy birthday, cool celebrity (??) IU's Korean comeback on May 11th, "Spring of a Twenty Year Old"

Singer IU will be releasing her new single "Spring of a Twenty Year Old" (스무살의 봄) on May 11th. Before that, her own self-composed song will be released on May 4th. (Note: LOEN has now confirmed this as the English tititle.)

The single, with a total of 3 songs, to be released 6 months after her last album, is a special gift prepared for her fans for their unwavering love and support all this while. In particular, IU will perform the title song from this single for the first time at her own solo concert.

Also, together with the release of this new single will be a short movie of the same title.

Unlike the usual music videos, this short movie was produced to emulate the style of a documentary, containing some of IU's personal thoughts that she has kept to herself all this while and conveying the experiences on life and love of the 20-year-old IU.

IU's agency, LOEN Entertainment, expressed, "Instead of releasing a song with a conventional style for IU's new single this time, we attempted a new approach to convey emotions and story behind the music through a short movie. Please look forward to IU's unique new single."

Meanwhile, IU's self-composition will be released on May 4th at 00:00 (12 midnight) through online music sites, while the single "Spring of a Twenty Year Old" will be released on May 11th.

(Note: The short movie is probably the one that was shot in Venice earlier on.)

IU's 99,000 won concert tickets going at 500,000 won?

Ticket touts resell tickets from the June sold-out concert
Angry fans report them and actively boycott such activities.

Singer IU's fans staged a boycott against the sale of illegal concert tickets.

All 6500 tickets to IU's "Real Fantasy" nationwide tour starting from Seoul on June 2nd and 3rd, were sold out within 30 mins when ticket sales opened on April 17th.

Fans that failed to get tickets have been posting on online ticket booking sites and other sites reselling tickets, hoping to get tickets to IU's Seoul concert.

However, ticket touts have been demanding for more than 3 times the original price of the tickets.

According to the agency in charge of IU's nationwide concert tour, there were posts selling 99,000 won tickets for Area R at 500,000 won.

Last year, 19,800 won tickets to IU's fanmeeting were also sold for up to 100,000 won too.

The ticket agency expressed, "Illegal tickets have always been an issue for concerts, but it's unusual that IU fans are actively boycotting such activities" and "thanks to the fans, the prices for such illegal tickets are gradually dropping and sales are decreasing too."
